When I first heard about the shooting in Connecticut I immediately thought about my 11 year old brother and 6 year old sister and how I would feel if it happened at their school,  and its not a comfortable feeling to say the least.  The president (and the country) has rallied around those in Newtown and has tried to make the sting of what happen a little better.  Last night Obama did his job and offered some solace to the families and friends of those lost.  It's a human reaction to feel compassion and to try and put yourself in the shoes of the people who DID lose someone in such a traumatic way but...what isn't a human reaction is to say that this happened because "God isn't allowed in schools" or take to social media and call the president a nigger because your precious football game was interrupted for an hour while he spoke to not just a shell shocked community in New England but a country.  Reason I bring this up is because I had a discussion with my boss today who was irate (yes...irate) because the Sunday game between the 49ers and New England Patriots was interrupted while Obama spoke to us.   I also saw the disgusting and inhuman remarks people were making on Twitter:

"Take that nigger off the tv, we wanna watch football"

"Obama can eat shit, trying to make a speech during the football game.  Unacceptable"

"You have got the be fucking kidding me Obama, you stupid mother fucker.  It's a football time in America not you to give a speech you fuck!"

"This nigger interrupted football game."

"Obama get the fuck off the screen while I'm trying to watch the pats."

Those are some of the posts off Twitter, I emphasize SOME,  all the entries pissed me off but what really got me started was when my boss opened his fat mouth and bitched about the game being interrupted,  this is what I have to say to all these jerk-offs....

Shut up...please.  Parents lost a child, children lost a parent, others lost an aunt, sister, nephew, niece...friend.  You should be ashamed of yourselves.  Put yourself in their shoes- what if it was YOUR kid, aunt, niece, nephew, sister or friend I HIGHLY doubt you would think the same way if some moron typed/said the things you did Sunday. Calling the president a racial slur because A FUCKING FOOTBALL GAME was interrupted is inexcusable.   Why don't you go to the Twitter and Facebook pages of the parents and tell them how upset your are that your precious GAME was interrupted you fucking selfish insensitive self-righteous shit stains.   You missed a football game...BIG FUCKING DEAL...they had a loved one ripped away from them. What does it say about a society that says the things you said?  And for those of you (like my boss) who consider yourself a Christian- what kind of Christian says stuff like that and is more concerned about a GAME than people who are in pain and needed last night??  Get a grip on reality and grow the fuck up.

Commence Implosion!

OHHHHH MAN!

What an election!  Not only did Obama win more than 100+ electoral votes than Romney he ALSO won the popular vote (albeit it was close) but he got it.  But what made the whole night or "was the icing on the cake with a cherry" was the complete SHOCK of those who supported Romney- most notably everyone on Fox News.  When Ohio was given to Obama you couldn't get a strong enough shovel to get their jaws off the ground...and that's putting it mildly.   Karl Rove (who got a Ph.D in crookery) completely freaked out and tried to persuade Fox to not give the votes to Obama, then tried to persuade the Romney campaign from conceding.  There's also reports that Romney had a plane waiting for him at Logan that would take him to Ohio.  Then there were the images and video from Romney HQ in Boston.  A sea of white people crumbled to the floor, plowed their faces into open hands, scowled like Scrooge,  crossed their arms like 5-year-olds do when they don't get their way, and most importantly the utter disbelief, shock and horror on their faces.   I have to admit that all that is the second best thing about this election.  ALL the money that was given to Romney by all those scumbags  means NOTHING.   People like Donald Trump, Victoria Jackson, and Ted Nugent immediately took to Twitter and like Rove came close to speaking in tongues and shitting themselves (this would be the second time for Nugent because he did that to get out of the draft during Vietnam...some American).  Aside from Romney not getting elected it was also a bad night for the tea party who lost several seats, as well as Todd Aiken and the other "rape guy"  not getting elected although, Bachmann aka "the mom from Carrie" (as Bill Maher put it)  did get re-elected- BARELY.

All in all it was a great night for not just liberals but the country.   There's one last thing I have to do...and open letter to the GOP and everyone who lost their minds on Tuesday.

Dear, GOP:

I'm not sorry you lost Tuesday in fact, I'm elated that you lost.  You have only yourselves to blame and that goes for all of you,  you lost due to your lack of smarts / lack of balls.

For those of you who are moderate and have half a brain, Where...the fuck have you been?!  This is what happens when you let irrational and immoral people take over your party.  You've let tea baggers, racists, sexists, homophobes, Islamophobes, and just plain crazies take over your party.  Four years ago when Mitch McConnell said that the ultimate job of the GOP was to deny Obama a second term you lost all of my respect and I know I'm not the only one.  Your party REFUSED to work with Obama and the democrats because you wanted them to fail and in 2010 it almost happened when you ran a smear campaign against them.  You also have no respect whatsoever for Obama.  He TRIED to play nice in the sandbox with you but nope, couldn't do it.  For the past 4 years you have become obstructionist assholes.  There has NEVER been this much absolute disrespect for a president, and saying that "we" did the same thing to Bush...that's bullshit and you know it.  Bush invaded TWO countries and cost this country trillions of dollars due to horrible policies not to mention his sorry excuse for a cabinet who, as far as I'm concerned, was full of war criminals.  You think the American people are stupid and wouldn't pay attention and hopefully share your warped views on democracy.

You attacked, insulted and excluded women from all around by trying to control how we take care of OUR bodies and had members try and pass bills that would redefine rape so it would be harder to obtain an abortion, tried to deny us access to birth control, and basic reproductive health care.   YOU didn't stand up for us when people like Rush Limbaugh were calling us sluts YOUR presidential nominee (in response to Limbaugh's tirade) said "Not the words I would've chosen", as well as him picking a running mate that wants to outlaw various forms of birth control and IVF as well as being against abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

When people claimed Obama was a "communist", "socialist", "fascist", "reverse racist", said he's not a real American you did NOTHING.  When lame excuse for a decent human, Donald Trump, made wild accusations and tried to EXTORT Obama you again did NOTHING.

You attack the LGBT community and act like they're deviants and not even second class citizens, you treat them worse that cows on a feed lot,  you want a "smaller government" but want to make laws that control how people live their lives.   You're intolerant and have excluded everyone from your base except rich white (mostly) men.  You've offended pretty much every single demographic (thinking Cubans are the same as Mexicans for one).

You have the chance now to try and put all these and other blunders behind you.  YOU have the chance to make this country better, YOU have to make it work.   The government shouldn't only serve a select few but everyone- from all walks of life.   On Tuesday the country spoke (again) letting you know that we didn't take your bait.  You can freak out and talk about how the country can't "afford" four more years and blah blah blah but the democrats didn't cause this problem.  They didn't cause the economy to crash, they didn't attack women, they didn't attack the LGBT community, they didn't call the president a liar during a speech, YOU DID.  Take a hint, humble yourselves and learn from this.

There.  I'm done.

The Time Warp of Women's Rights

It's election season again and as we all know mud has been flying around every which way but Sunday.  But the mud that's being slung at women for the past couple of months is some of the most vile and disgusting around.  These attacks are coming from only ONE political party- the GOP.  Republicans like Todd Aiken, Darrell Issa, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Rush Limbaugh, Richard Mourdock (just to name a few) have all played their part in the relentless attacks against women.  Here's what each of these MEN have contributed to their anti-woman cause....

*Todd Aiken
"Well you know, people always want to try to make that as one of those things, well how do you, how do you slice this particularly tough sort of ethical question. First of all, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist and not attacking the child."
Aiken then stated his words were "taken out of context".  Whatever you say but...that's not how the female reproductive system works, if a sperm fertilizes an egg the woman will most likely become pregnant REGARDLESS if she's raped or not.

*Darrell Issa
Issa held a congressional hearing on birth control (regarding the Obama administration making birth control accessible/free for students attending religious affiliated universities)  but was missing one thing....he didn't allow any women to talk, only men.  A young law student by the name of Sandra Fluke wasn't able to testify because Issa said she was "not qualified for appropriate"....and all the men you're talking to are?!

*Rick Santorum
Does not believe that "right to privacy" isn't part of the Constitution, he's critical of Griswold v. Connecticut, he also said that contraception is "a license to do things in a sexual realm this is counter to how things are supposed to be."  He thinks birth control is harmful to women and harmful to our society, believes sex is only for procreation.   He also thinks sexual freedom has led to "the debasement of women, mental illness, and an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases, causing infertility, cancer and even death."  He thinks that the women's rights movement has damaged "traditional family values", doesn't support having women on the front lines during war....

*Mitt Romney
Romney is a weird case...first he says he's for women's rights then he backtracks THEN he picks a running mate who is trying to get legislation passed that would re-define the definition of rape.   My personal opinion is that this guy has a hard time relating to anyone who isn't a rich white man.  Apparently those "binders full of women" didn't help.

*Paul Ryan
Mitt Romney's running mate- He has co-sponsored 38...yes 38 measures in congress that would restrict abortion no matter if the woman was raped, incest or endangers the mothers life.   He voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Pay Act,  thinks fertilized eggs should be considered people,  opposes selling emergency contraception over-the-counter, wants to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood,  and like I stated earlier wants to change the definition of rape...because apparently there's differences between "forcible rape" and "legitimate rape".

*Rush Limbaugh
I don't think I need to remind anyone on how much of a worthless-useless-racist-sexist pile of human waste this guy is.  But in short he has NO IDEA how birth control works and I'm pretty sure most of these guys don't.

*Richard Mourdock
The newest member of Club Scumbag!  He recently said this about women who become pregnant after being raped-
"I know there are some who disagree and I respect their point of view but I believe that life begins at conception. The only exception I have to have an abortion is in that case of the life of the mother. I just struggled with it myself for a long time but I came to realize: "Life is that gift from God that I think even if life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."
And like Todd Aiken he offered an excuse about how the words he spewed without thinking were twisted around.

I along with every self respecting woman (and not just American women) find these attacks offensive, disgusting, sickening, untrue and most of all...scary since it's usually men who decide what a woman can and can't do with her body.  It's also evident that we still live in a male dominated society and the clues are everywhere.   They also never have to worry about having their reproductive rights taken away nor are they CONSTANTLY under attack.

Of course there have been even more outrageous things said like "If I thought that a mans signature was required...required in order for a woman to have an abortion, I'd have a little bit more peace of mind."  and there was that bullshit law about how if a woman needed an abortion she would be required to be probed against her will, THEN there are laws where rapists can get shared custody of children of the woman he raped (double whammy!).

In closing I would like to say this:

I may not always necessarily like having a Uterus or what comes along with it but the simple fact is, is that it's MINE.  If I choose to get it removed, keep it in a jar of formaldehyde and carry it around with me or use it as a coin purse I HAVE THAT RIGHT.  It's not yours to decide what I do with it and I'm sure as shit not going to let one, much less a man, tell me "No you can't have birth control or an abortion."

I know the men in the GOP have this thing about how women have a hard time making decisions because they're too "emotional" and NEED men to help them sort things out because we're "the weaker sex" but enough is enough and the damage has been done and I think women are going to remember this and playing nice in the sandbox is out of the question.
